Calabria Italian property - this is a stunning beachfront development in Brancaleone, on the south-eastern tip of Calabria, in southern Italy.
Another phase of the incredibly successful "Jewel of The Sea", a stunning beachfront development in this beautiful part of southern Italy.
Calabria is becoming increasingly popular with foreign buyers and investors - the region is a secret henceforth only known to Italian holidaymakers, but now the rest of the world is catching on. Due to the strict guidelines set by the Italian government in April of 2006 there is now a restriction on developments right on the shore. Fortunately, this developer had his permission granted before this date and this means that Jewel of the Sea "Beach Front" is pure front line with no apartment more than 40 metres from the white sands and deep blue Ionian Sea. We cannot stress enough how rare these types of units this close to the Sea are going to be in the future as anybody who applied for building permission after April 2006 last year will be declined.
With finance a sensible alternative and full permissions in place (so long a problem in Italy) Jewel of the Sea is a new five-star development. This property for sale in Italy is a mixture of 1 bed, 2 bed apartments and penthouses, and townhouses. The vast majority have panoramic views of the Ionian Sea ranging from 50 metres from your doorstep to a maximum of 300 metres away. You also have the benefit of a golf course on your doorstep which is about to be approved.
Drive some 90 minutes through incredible mountain scenery and you get to Gambarie, a small ski resort in the Aspromonte national Park. Although not the biggest it provides a perfect weekend away within a holiday, skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer.
There are two nine-hole golf courses in Reggio Calabria and there is an application in place for a golf course on the edge of Jewel of the Sea. Once this is approved, expect a rise in prices in the development. During the summer there are watersports available up and down the coast, from scuba diving to paragliding.
There are a number of Blue Flag beaches nearby too. Reggio di Calabria is the old capital of Calabria, abuzz with activity from winter through to the summer. There is Gerace too, not a common tourist spot but what a location. A maze of winding roads takes you hundreds of metres above sea level to where you see the ancient castle. Stand there and you will see the most amazing unforgettable views, spend the rest of the day walking through the ancient town and eating in one of the many cafes.
Reggio Di Calabria Airport is just 40 minutes away. Flights will also be coming directly into Palermo - the capital of Sicily - from February from Dublin. Sicily itself has got more history than most countries and is renowned for its excellent cuisine.
