This charming old property for sale in Umbria is located in a tiny fortified borough near Massa Martena, a few miles south of Todi.

The town was founded in the 12th century by a noble Guelph family, whose crest (a lion between two palms) is still visible on a wall. In 1310 the Ghibellines of Todi were ready to take over the fortress, but gave up after having met with the ambassador of the borough, who asked for a peace treaty. Pope Clement VII was a guest in the town in 1533.
