There are about 25500 inhabitants, but during the summer it becomes much busier with tourists. A typical Salentine medieval town, full of history, with a harbour close to which are found small grottos. These, excavated in the rock, are used by the fishermen as storehouses. There are imposing cliffs, and a richness of fauna and flora making this a demi-paradise. And this Salento peninsula has terrific food and wine too.
