From here you can take tripsout to the Borromean Islands: boats leave the dock at Stresa’s Piazza Marconi every 15-25 minutes.

There is a funicular railway or cable car up the mountain from Stresa (fantastic views of the lake). You'll find charming little villages dotting the mountainside.
